The Pier 17

Pier 17 is a 150,000-sq/ft facility featuring the next generation of berthing technology. It provides offshore supply and service vessels with safe, efficient, environmentally preferred means for on- and off-loading and for transferring large volumes of fluid.
Adapted to service both general marine usage and the rapidly expanding oil industry, it is multi-purpose, leading-edge and one of the most flexible and accessible facilities available on the east coast of Canada.

From its vastly increased lift capabilities to accessible in-deck utilidors to the latest in environmental containment and safety systems, Pier 17 is a study in modern pier versatility. It includes next-generation fluid management systems, comprehensive bunkering capabilities and a wide-open design that allows for maximum manoeuverability with all types of cargo.
Facility Features
• Concrete wharf area and paved upland area approximately 9,700 m sq'd (104,409 sq.ft.), adjacent gravelled storage approximately 4,500 m sq'd (48,437 sq.ft.)
• 180 lineal metres (590 ft.) of berthage; water depth at front of pier 8.1 to 10.3 metres (26.5 to 33.8 ft.) at low tide
• In-deck concrete utilidors providing potable water and fuel at wharf face, with additional capacity for electrical, telephone, bulks, etc.
• 600 amp, 347/600 volt, 3 phase, 4 wire electrical supply
• Multi-level area lighting system
Structural Capacity
• Unrestricted crane operations for up to 150 tonne capacity crane
• Live load: 50Kpa (uniformly distributed) or CS600 vehicle
• Berthing capacity 25,000 tonne vessel; controlled occasional berthage by vessels up to 50,000 tonnes
• 100 tonne bollard capacity
